PERCALE SHEETS
We offer our percale sheets in two different thread counts. For our percale bedding 200 TC we use long staple fibers of the top cotton variety American Pima from the USA. These are obtained from the cotton plant Gossypium Barbadense, which provides the world’s best qualities.
For our percale bedding 400 TC we use extra-long staple fibers of a lace cotton variety from Egypt. This is also obtained from the cotton plant Gossypium Barbadense, which provides the world’s best qualities. There is no higher category than extra long staple cotton fibers. The production of such fine fibers accounts for only about 2% of world tree wool production.
Good to know
It is important to use long or extra long and fine fibers, because the softness and durability increases with the length and fineness of the fibers.
What are percale sheets?
Compared to other fabrics, percale is very fine and densely woven. A percale is based on a canvas binding, which makes the bed linen durable. This construction makes it a little less supple than a sateen. The look of a percale is dull and smooth and feels firm and soft. Italians use percale sheets all year round.
